10/23 Regular Session Board Meeting Updates
Posted By vraboin on November 21, 2024
Hello, Oak Valley II Residents!
Here’s an update from the Regular Session Board Meeting on October 23rd. We’re excited to share progress on recent projects, budget updates, and upcoming community events—read on for the highlights!
Project Updates
Here’s what’s been happening around the community:
- Basketball Court: New channel drains were installed, which will help keep the court dry and safe for play, and the court was restriped.
- Balata Park: Irrigation system repairs have been completed to ensure healthy landscaping and reduce water waste.
- Birdie Drive: Improved, in-ground spike strips and new entry loops were installed, adding an extra layer of security at the gates. Speed bumps were also added at the exits to slow down traffic going over the spikes
- Asphalt Repair & Seal Coat Project: The asphalt project continues assisting in creating smoother, safer streets. Our road improvement project is progressing well, and we appreciate everyone’s patience during the upgrades!
- Lighting at Lake – The lighting around the lake is currently being worked on and should be resolved soon.
Community Engagement
The Board reviewed requests to establish the following 2 committees:
- Social Events Committee: Alma Lomeli, one of our residents, proposed starting a Social Committee to bring more activities to Oak Valley II. This committee would be a great opportunity to build community spirit, and we’ll share more details as Alma finalizes her proposal for an upcoming event in 2025.
- Neighborhood Watch Committee: Sergeant Lundt from Beaumont PD joined the meeting to discuss launching a Neighborhood Watch program. A Neighborhood Watch could help keep our community safe, and we’ll be reaching out soon to see if any residents are interested in leading or joining this group.
2025 Budget
The Board approved several budget adjustments for the coming year to enhance community services. These updates include more support for landscaping, increased janitorial services, and investments in safety and compliance efforts. Our goal is to keep Oak Valley II beautiful, safe, and well-maintained for everyone to enjoy!
What’s Next?
- Pedestrian Gate Keypads: The Board has approved a proposal to upgrade gate fob readers to keypad access, offering residents easier entry and reducing maintenance costs significantly.
- Revised Hardscape Guidelines: The Board reviewed potential guidelines for installing concrete and other hardscape features in front yards. Once reviewed, these guidelines will be available for a 28-day public comment period, so watch for details and share your input!
- CC&R Amendment on RV Parking: We’re revisiting RV parking rules to align with resident needs and community standards. An Inspector of Elections will manage ballots and tabulations to ensure a fair process for any future votes.
Our next Board meeting is scheduled for December 18, 2024 at 6:00pm at the Albert Chatigny Recreation Center or via Zoom. Join us to stay updated!
