10/23 Regular Session Board Meeting Updates

Hello, Oak Valley II Residents!

Here’s an update from the Regular Session Board Meeting on October 23rd. We’re excited to share progress on recent projects, budget updates, and upcoming community events—read on for the highlights!

Project Updates

Here’s what’s been happening around the community:

  • Basketball Court: New channel drains were installed, which will help keep the court dry and safe for play, and the court was restriped.
  • Balata Park: Irrigation system repairs have been completed to ensure healthy landscaping and reduce water waste.
  • Birdie Drive: Improved, in-ground spike strips and new entry loops were installed, adding an extra layer of security at the gates. Speed bumps were also added at the exits to slow down traffic going over the spikes
  • Asphalt Repair & Seal Coat Project: The asphalt project continues assisting in creating smoother, safer streets. Our road improvement project is progressing well, and we appreciate everyone’s patience during the upgrades!
  • Lighting at Lake – The lighting around the lake is currently being worked on and should be resolved soon.

Community Engagement

The Board reviewed requests to establish the following 2 committees:

  • Social Events Committee: Alma Lomeli, one of our residents, proposed starting a Social Committee to bring more activities to Oak Valley II. This committee would be a great opportunity to build community spirit, and we’ll share more details as Alma finalizes her proposal for an upcoming event in 2025.
  • Neighborhood Watch Committee: Sergeant Lundt from Beaumont PD joined the meeting to discuss launching a Neighborhood Watch program. A Neighborhood Watch could help keep our community safe, and we’ll be reaching out soon to see if any residents are interested in leading or joining this group.

2025 Budget

The Board approved several budget adjustments for the coming year to enhance community services. These updates include more support for landscaping, increased janitorial services, and investments in safety and compliance efforts. Our goal is to keep Oak Valley II beautiful, safe, and well-maintained for everyone to enjoy!

What’s Next?

  • Pedestrian Gate Keypads: The Board has approved a proposal to upgrade gate fob readers to keypad access, offering residents easier entry and reducing maintenance costs significantly.
  • Revised Hardscape Guidelines: The Board reviewed potential guidelines for installing concrete and other hardscape features in front yards. Once reviewed, these guidelines will be available for a 28-day public comment period, so watch for details and share

Seal Coat & Stripe Work (11/04 – 11/20) – PHASE 1 WEDNESDAY 11/20

Dear Oak Valley II Residents,

Please be advised that NPG will be performing seal coat work throughout the community Monday, November 4th – Wednesday, November 20th. This work is essential for the upkeep of our streets, and while we apologize for any inconvenience, we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the project goes smoothly. Please see the attached Phasing Map for details on which phase your property is a part of and when work will be conducted. Be advised that the schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather.

SEAL & STRIP WORK SCHEDULE

*Please note, the affected areas will be closed entirely during the seal coat application. We ask residents to study this schedule carefully. Some of the work areas are quite large and you may have to walk a fairly long distance and park your vehicle outside the work area. These work areas may be closed until the following morning.

Phase 2 – Monday 11/4 (COMPLETED)
Phase 3 – Tuesday 11/5 (COMPLETED)
Phase 5 – Monday 11/11 (COMPLETED)
Phase 6 – Tuesday 11/12 (COMPLETED)
Phase 7 – Wednesday 11/13 (COMPLETED)

**Phase 1 – Tuesday 10/29 (RESCHEDULED TO WEDNESDAY 11/20 DUE TO WEATHER) Be advised that the intersection at Amateur Way & Gallery Lane will be CLOSED during Phase 1.

**Phase 4 – Wednesday 11/6 (RESCHEDULED TO MONDAY 12/2 DUE TO WEATHER)

To help ensure the project runs smoothly, we ask for your cooperation with the following:

  1. Vehicle Removal: All vehicles must be removed from the work areas by 7:00 AM on the scheduled days. Any vehicles left will be towed at the owner’s expense. Vehicles parked in driveways may get dusty, so please consider moving them as well.
  2. Turn Off Irrigation: Please turn off your irrigation systems 24 hours before the seal coating begins and leave them off until 24 hours after the streets are reopened. Water can prevent the seal from properly adhering.
  3. Cancel Deliveries and Services: Please reschedule any deliveries or home services during the work days.
  4. Avoid Wet Materials: The sealant is wet and can stick to shoes, cars, and other surfaces, leaving permanent marks. Please avoid entering the blocked-off areas.
  5. Stay Alert: Be cautious near construction zones and do not cross any coned or ribboned-off sections. Anyone driving on the streets before they are reopened will be responsible for any damages.
  6. Contact Us: If you have any
